David was taking care of the practice back home, and we missed him alot....Luckily we had lots of friends with us! We started the week off by going on an "animal safari"...many animals came right up to our car and the kids got to feed them - it was lots of fun. Aspen was expecially entranced by these huge creatures - not scared in the least! The kids got to feed the wild animals, and that was a hoot! some of the animals would get their faces right up to the windows and eat the food from your hand. The coolest was feeding the giraffe.
Then off we went to the beach for the week.
We took some long walks on the beach which usually put Aspen to sleep....
Aspen caught a GI bug near the start of our vacation and shared it with Brenda, so the two of us didn't make it out to the beach much, but when we managed to get out there, we had a fantastic time! Here are more beach fun photos and photos with friends.
We had a great time with our friends going on walks, building a bonfire on the beach and fun with sparklers and lots of fun meals together:
One of Brenda's sisters got to come with us along with her husband and son Andy who is Claire age. I got a cute photo of Aspen with her Aunt.
When we got back Aspen and Claire couldn't wait to play with Daddy!! Aspen LOVES to go outside and ride in her "car". 
Our neighbors were having a party and put up these penguins in their yard...Claire thought they were cool!
